As a Professional Organizer, I’m trained to assist you in creating organized systems and teach skills so you can live more simply and efficiently. I help you overcome clutter and disorganization to make daily living less stressful and create easy-to-follow routines to help keep it that way. After we establish a safe space where I first listen, we then collaborate on a plan. I follow through with gentle accountability to help you start moving forward to making your home or office more functional and peaceful. I bring my expertise and an objective eye to your spaces, will support you in making decisions and facilitate actions around removing unwanted belongings.
I grew up in a very dysfunctional, cluttered environment and know exactly how you feel! There is no shame allowed, as I encourage you to let go of self judgement. As an experienced Professional and Certified Life Coach, I enter into your life with lots of compassion and understanding. I sincerely have a desire to restore peace and order, and remind you that change is possible as you take brave first steps in getting the help you need.
Whether your project is big or small, I truly believe you will find the cost of time, energy and budget in hiring help to be a worthwhile investment! You will find yourself having less stress when you know where everything is located, which also saves time and huge headaches. Disorganization gets expensive, because it limits productivity and costs time when you can’t find what you need, when you need it. Your physical environment has a huge impact on your entire well-being - mentally, emotionally, spiritually. As you clear the clutter, your life will be changed in amazing ways!
The Institute for Challenging Disorganization "ICD" defines Chronic Disorganization "CD" with these criteria:
Disorganization that has been present for a long time indicating a chronic condition
There is a history of failed self-help efforts, leading to discouragement
The disorganization undermines your quality of life on a regular basis.
You expect the disorganization to continue into the future, resulting in a lack of hope
We all have times in our lives when we or a loved one have suffered from an illness, while others struggle through a deep loss or are working through a divorce. These types of overwhelming situations can put us in a place of being "situationally" disorganized, and a professional organizer who is trained can provide much needed support. However, when the quality of your life suffers on a daily basis and you feel utterly overwhelmed all the time, you might be chronically disorganized. I find it a privilege to come alongside those affected by life transitions and CD, and am constantly growing in my knowledge and experience in this area.
You betcha! Working virtually is a fantastic option if you have limited time, budget or live in a remote area and yet need support in decluttering, organizing or downsizing. Virtual Organizing requires you having the ability to do the physical organizing and be a self starter. Through the process, we focus on one realistic project at a time; I listen in to what your specific challenges are, view the spaces through pictures and video, help you set goals and develop a plan to keep you on track. In between sessions, you do the physical work. The best thing is you not only clear the physical clutter as you apply organizing skills between sessions, you begin to understand what's going on beneath those piles.
I understand how you feel, and believe in your unique strengths and capabilities. I’m versatile and flexible to work within your pace and needs
I have an extensive toolbox of organizing tips and strategies to tackle the toughest of cluttered spaces. I love hot messes.
I bring a fresh perspective on the use of space and ways to create and maintain order.
I motivate and encourage you, keeping you focused on the tasks needed to reach their goals. I love to provide an abundance of support and accountability along the journey.
I help you to think beyond what you see. Organizing is about the whole person, inside and out - as we sift through physical stuff we also explore habits, routines, relationships, family life and work.
I know trust is the foundation of our work - I am in your stuff and realize it can get very personal. I treat you and your things with deep respect.
I listen… and ask lots of good questions to that bring deeper awareness of what's going on.
No way! The work we do together is very much client directed; as a life coach, I love to ask lots of thought provoking questions which will help you make good decisions on what stays, or not. I will often remind you of your personal goals to live more organized. But it’s your stuff - you are the decision maker.
Not always; I can dig into the clutter myself or with a team but only you can decide what stays or goes. In working side by side, not only will the job get completed more quickly but I will be able to teach skills and the habits needed to maintain order with the new organizing systems put into place.
This all depends on your overall project, schedule, whether we are working one-on-one, with a team, virtually and how quickly you are able to make decisions about your stuff. If you are willing to do the recommended work in between sessions, the process will go faster, take less time and be less expensive. Many clients have years of accumulation in their spaces and it can take a good number of work sessions to accomplish organizational goals. I’ll help you figure out what you need to get there!
Absolutely. I recognize that clutter is extremely personal and I respect each client’s privacy. All meetings, conversations, and questions are held in strict confidence. Please click here to see the Code of Ethics that I stand by.
It comes down to your goals, how quickly you make decisions, how much work you are willing and able to complete between sessions, the accessibility and size of the space(s) to be decluttered and organized, the level of organization desired, and the amount of distractions you have going on.
That’s no problem! I can work with you on an hourly basis, with a 4 hour minimum per on-site work session. Please note though, it can take a good amount of sessions together to achieve lasting change, especially with higher levels of clutter.
All organized systems require ongoing effort (even for me!) If you struggle with CD, you may have trouble staying clutter free and need more motivation after our hands-on work is done. No problem! I offer maintenance appointments, which can be customized to your schedule, budget and needs.
